The number of visits will not depend on the number of visits your insurance plan may cover, it is depended on you and your condition. There are several factors that determine what you will need to fulfill your objectives. Do you just want to get out of pain and not worry about your condition re-occurring, or do you want to fully heal and stay that way?

Age and gender plays a significant factor in how well and how quickly you will heal and recover. The younger you are the quicker you heal, the older you are the slower you will heal. The body reaches its height of optimal health and performance by the age of 21. After the age of 21 the body begins a slow decline in performance and function. By the age of 35 the human body is accelerating in its decline. If you are 35 and older and not in good physical condition your ability to heal and recover will be impaired. If you are a female you will also heal slower. Testosterone promotes protein synthesis which is critical for muscle repair and growth. Because men have higher levels of testosterone they can heal and recover more quickly than females.

How well and how quickly you recover from your condition is directly related to: how bad you are, how long this condition has been going on and the extent of damage to the involved soft tissue. Pain is not normal, it is a sign that something is wrong and damage has occurred. The longer you have been experience pain and discomfort the more arthritic damage to the joints has been occurring. If you do nothing to stop this it will get worse.

If you are in a lot of pain and very tender to the touch to the involved area, this is a sign that there is damage to the ligaments, tendons and muscles that help to hold your spinal vertebra in place. Radiating pain, numbness, tingling, loss of strength and loss of muscle mass in a very bad sign that the nerve supply has been damaged. In general, the worse you are the longer it will take for you to improve and recover.

When dealing with the spine there are several soft tissue components involved helping to keep the vertebra of the spine in their proper position. The disc, ligaments and tendons are made of strong fibrous tissue that do not have a very good blood supply. As a result, when they are damaged they do not heal quickly like your muscles or skin that are loaded with blood vessels delivering a great blood supply. The disc, ligaments and tendons take 90 to 120 days to fully heal. You can be out of pain much quicker than that but if the disc, ligaments and tendons are not fully healed you will run the risk to re-injury causing increased and long term damage. If you have radiating pain, numbness, tingling, loss of strength or muscle mass nerve damage has taken place. Nerves do not have a great blood supply so they will take a long time to heal.

The older you are the longer it will take for you to heal. If you are not in good health, overweight or have diabetes you will not heal as quickly as one who is young, physically fit.

Healing takes time. Most people having been experiencing their condition of years and have dealt with it until they cannot take the discomfort anymore. Taking medication to cover up the problem only allowed it to get worse without you experiencing the pain. Unfortunately, the longer you wait the more damage is done to the joint and soft tissue. It took a step by step process for you to get in the condition you are in, it will take a step by step process for you to get better. Clinical experience has shown that for every year a condition has been festering it will take 3 months of healing to restore the damage.
